On Sunday, 7th of May, our team ‘Impex House Pacemakers’ took part in a charity Dragon Boat Race, an ancient Chinese tradition and fast growing water activity in Britain today.

Everyone from our Peterborough office and friends got together to prove that as well as being brilliant at making superb furniture, we are also able to have a lot of fun in aid of charity! Our crew of 13 paddlers together with a drummer, beating time at the front, paddled a 40’ spectacular Chinese boat on the river Nene competing with 52 crews from other Peterborough companies and organizations.

As ever, the day was chilly and rainy, but after a passionate preparation period, nothing could spoil our excitement or dampen our high spirits, motivating us to come second on two of the heats and first on the third one, with us taking a final 14th place!
